Before joining as Vice-President, Finance at the Ottawa Community Foundation in 2020, Adam led the Not-for-Profit practice as an audit partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly, Coopers & Lybrand), Chartered Accountants in the National Capital Region, and represented PwC Canada on industry matters. Prior to joining PwC, Adam worked for the federal Office of the Auditor General.
With over 25 years of experience building long-standing relationships and trust in the charitable and not-for-profit sector, Adam has served local, national and international organizations and supported boards and committees on financial and operational issues.
Adam has contributed to thought leadership in / regulation of the Canadian not-for-profit sector as an author/contributor and lecturer, and as an Associate of the Not-for-Profit Organizations Advisory Committee to the Accounting Standards Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (later, CPA Canada).
He graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in 1996 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (later, Chartered Professional Accountant) in 1998. He is also a licensed public accountant in Ontario and a graduate of the SME Board Effectiveness Program, jointly developed by the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
Adam is also a volunteer instructor with the Ottawa Citadel Junior Band and plays cornet (trumpet) with several other Salvation Army Brass Bands.
