Eleanor Belyea and Ian Wees met when they both moved to Ottawa in the 1950s. They were founders of the newly created National Library of Canada where they made their careers. Married in 1957, they remained fond and admiring residents of Ottawa for the rest of their lives. Throughout the years, they were consistently generous toward local charities, caring profoundly for, among others, the homeless and hungry, our animal friends, and the mission of libraries.
