In Ottawa, there are more than 260,300 people living with disabilities* and they are at a greater risk of living in poverty. They are also twice as likely to report hate crimes as people without disabilities. This fund was set up to help organizations that advocate for inclusion, equality, and accessibility. The work being done by these community partners helps overcome barriers and inequities through developing accessible environments that lead to more dignity, independence, employment opportunities, and greater inclusion in the community.
Communities benefit and grow through greater diversity and inclusion when more people are contributing to the conversation and making change.
