Kelda’s Story:

My name is Kelda. I have Dystonia, a neurological disorder that causes my body to twist and distort into abnormal positions. Since 1996, I’ve had numerous neurosurgeries to try to defeat this affliction. It has yet to be overcome. But I am not a quitter. Over the years, I’d participated in many local fundraisers to help others with Dystonia. My financial advisor suggested an endowment fund at the Ottawa Community Foundation to provide ongoing support for as long as it takes to fight this condition.

Today, my fund continues to work as hard as I do to battle the debilitating effects of Dystonia.

About the Fund:

Since 2006, the K. C. Whalen Memorial Fund has provided grants for research and support for those affected by Dystonia. The Ottawa Community Foundation is honoured to work with donors like Kelda to make a lasting impact on important causes.
