The Lyle Makosky Values and Ethics in Sport Fund supports sport study scholarships that advance the thoughtful examination of values-based and ethical sport. The fund was established in 2014 by Lyle Makosky, a lifelong advocate and former national executive director for several sports as well as the Assistant Deputy Minister for Fitness and Amateur Sport in the Government of Canada. Administered by the True Sport Foundation, the study scholarships align with their mission of ensuring that sport makes a positive contribution to individuals and communities.
Donations to the fund will help facilitate annual awards for athletes, coaches, and educators dedicated to these principles. With the goal of fostering open dialogue on the values and ethical challenges in today’s sport, the Lyle Makosky Values and Ethics in Sport Fund seeks to protect the integrity of sport, enhance the quality of the sport experience, and ensure that sport remains a positive force in society.
