The Ottawa Deaf Centre (ODC), established in 1980, was the heart of the community for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deafened people and their families in Ottawa. For nearly three decades, it offered essential educational, social, recreational, and cultural programs that supported community needs, while also providing American Sign Language and Deaf Culture training to the broader community. Since the Centre’s closure in 2009, our community has deeply felt the loss of this pillar of the community.
To preserve the vision, we entrusted the funds to the Ottawa Community Foundation, which manages them on our behalf. The interest earned supports community projects and initiatives today, while our long-term goal is to grow the funds to one day reopen the Centre. Your donation strengthens current programs and invests in bringing back this much-needed community home.
