Michael William James Thomas (1993-2021) grew up in Dunrobin and enjoyed snowboarding, wake boarding, cycling, yoga and swimming. He was selected to play in Europe for Ontario’s water polo team. He loved to travel including visiting India for a yoga certification. During his studies in business at Bishop’s University in Quebec, he became an advocate for mental health awareness programs. He was frosh week leader and was elected Vice-President, Social. He had suffered a number of concussions which adversely affected his mental health, and he became an advocate for brain injuries. While at the hospital, he organized and facilitated the Love Your Brain fundraiser for concussion awareness. This fund, in his honour, supports brain injury research and youth programming. Michael’s shared wisdom was well beyond his years, and he touched the lives of many. He was a beautiful soul.
