Grant is a lawyer, corporate director, community leader, accomplished speaker and dedicated supporter of the arts. In April, 2017 he was appointed Fairness Commissioner of the province of Ontario. Grant is a retired Senior Partner and Ottawa Managing Partner of Norton Rose Fulbright, having practiced law from 1976 until 2016. Grant has over 40 years of integrated professional leadership experience in business, community engagement, fundraising and education through the practice of law, law firm management, business, and his dedication to worthy causes that benefit human rights, the arts, health care and corporate governance. He has received a number of awards for his leadership and contribution. Grant’s current and former community involvement includes the RCMP Foundation, Canadiana Fund, The Audette Foundation, Institute of Corporate Directors, Canadian Nurses Foundation, Canadian Club of Ottawa, Ottawa Chamber Music Society, Ottawa Arts Court Foundation, Canadian Red Cross, the AIDS Committee of Ottawa and the EGALE Human Rights Trust.
