Each year, the fund will provide $1,000 to five Indigenous students in the first two years of their educational journey in the fields of Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Midwifery, or Law. The awards will be granted in July each year.

The scholarship is intended to support Indigenous students who bring the same energy, passion, and love for community to their learning as Karen Green did.

The scholarship fund is held at the Ottawa Community Foundation and the selection process is managed by the Ottawa Aboriginal Coalition and the family of Karen Green.
