Manu Sharma, Director of Corporate Services and Social Innovation at the Ottawa Community Foundation (OCF), brings a unique blend of skills and experience to his role at the Foundation. With a strong background in engineering, entrepreneurship, and economic development, Manu is focused on using human-centered design to effect positive change, boost organizational efficiency, and increase social impact.

For over 25 years, Manu has been at the forefront of tech innovation, supporting new entrepreneurs and contributing to community development. His expertise in managing teams, streamlining processes, and leading operations has been crucial in supporting OCF’s strategic vision. In his OCF role, Manu combines his extensive experience in management and leadership to oversee corporate services and promote social innovation, integrating various strategies to enhance the Foundation’s mission and its impact on the community. Manu is deeply invested in the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop innovative, ethical solutions for complex social challenges, underscoring his commitment to blending technology with philanthropy for achieving meaningful societal impact.

Manu’s educational background is diverse and extensive, holding degrees in Electronics & Communications Engineering and Computer Engineering, along with an MBA. He’s furthered his education with an Advanced Executive Certificate from Queen’s University and a Diploma in International Trade. His contributions have been recognized with several awards, including Ottawa’s Forty Under 40 and the City’s Immigrant Entrepreneur Award. Beyond his professional life, Manu is actively involved in the community, working with non-profits and charities such as Kiva Zip, Mindtrust Leadership, Junior Achievements Ottawa, and TiE Global. He’s also a member of the College of Reviewers for the Ontario Centre for Innovation (OCI).
