Susan Scotti has been the Executive Vice President at the Business Council of Canada for the past 11 years. She retired in January 2022. Prior to joining the Council in 2011, Susan was a senior executive with the Government of Canada for over 30 years. She last served as Senior Assistant Deputy Minister with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada and has also held senior positions in the Ministries of Canadian Heritage, Communications, Indian and Northern Affairs and the Privy Council Office where she was responsible for national policies and programs for culture, broadcasting, aboriginal land claims, public pensions and the integration, and participation of youth,  immigrants, persons with disabilities, seniors, and indigenous people.

Susan has served as a board director of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and also as Vice-Chair of the Ottawa Immigrant Community Services Organization (OCISO).  She is the immediate past Chair of the Canadian Film Institute. She obtained the Chartered Director designation from the Directors’ College in 2014.

A graduate of the University of Toronto, Susan holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work degrees.
