Walker Family Charity Foundation Fund
Be the change that you wish to see in the world
In the winter of 1971, we arrived in Montreal on the Empress of Canada with our little family: Trevor, Marie, and our children Stewart (10), Claire (6), and Richard (2). We were all excited to see our new home, Canada. The excitement had been building since picking up the pilot and steaming up the St. Lawrence.
I was fortunate because I had been offered a Canadian teaching position while in England and started work the day after our arrival. I was blessed to have work until my retirement. Canada and the people I have had the pleasure of knowing here have been extremely good to us. Canada became our new home, and I never felt the need to return to England.
Stewart married Heather, and they have two children, James and Emily, who is married to Torrin. Claire married Isabelle and lives in Toulouse, France. Richard married Lesley, and they have three children: Reilly, Maggie, and Evan.
Throughout Canada and the world, there are some who require help, and this fund is our small attempt to help those in need. Our hope is that the change it brings will be our memorial. Here are some of the organizations we support:
