Growing up in Ottawa’s Chinatown, we learned a lot from our parents, Nancy and Alan Kwan, about the strength of community. We were handed down the torch of operating the Shanghai, our intergenerational family restaurant of over fifty years. In our years of running Shanghai, we have learned that it is the power of individuals that can foster positive change in our community.
