The Ottawa Community Foundation was created by and for the people of Ottawa. As the charity for charities, we help those who help the communities in our city. In our Impact Gallery, we showcase and celebrate our collective impact. If you have received a grant and would like to showcase your impact, we are happy to share your content, such as blog posts, articles, videos, photos, and testimonials. Contact our team today.

$250,000 Endowment donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall & District
At their successful annual awards gala on October 25, BBBS celebrated their volunteers and announced a generous $250,000 donation from the Joyce Family Foundation. The banquet honoured volunteers who dedicate their time to BBBS, presented awards, and celebrated all the impactful work taking place in the community.

Carleton University Architecture Action Lab builds outdoor gym and play space for kids in Russell Heights
This October, Carleton University's Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism celebrated the opening of a new recreational space in Russell Heights - a collaborative design-build project between Azrieli's Architecture Action Lab, directed by Assistant Professor Dr. Menna Agha, the Russell Heights Community House, and Ottawa Community Housing.

Drop-In Centre expands for Youth Services Bureau
Since 2010, the Ottawa Community Foundation has supported the Youth Services Bureau (YSB) with over $680,000 through OCF’s Community Grants Program and other donor-advised funds.

Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands – A Grateful Family’s Story
Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands is one of several organizations that received support from 100 Women Who Care North Grenville, which set up its fund at the Ottawa Community Foundation. 100 Women Who Care North Grenville follows the model of other chapters across North America that bring together community-minded women to contribute to the important work of local charities.

Grantee Story: Fondation Massawippi Foundation gives a boost to land conservation in the Massawippi Valley
The Fondation Massawippi Foundation (FMF), which set up its fund with the Ottawa Community Foundation (OCF) in 2010, was thrilled this year to announce its support of land conservation work through a grant to its sister organization, the Massawippi Conservation Trust (MCT).

Kidney Friendly Cooking and Nutrition Workshop with the Kidney Foundation of Canada
This past fall, The Kidney Foundation of Canada received a grant for a Kidney Friendly Cooking and Nutrition Workshop. We were very pleased with the results of this event and are looking to replicate it in partnership with other community groups this coming spring.
Guidelines for Impact Gallery
Submissions for OCF’s Impact Gallery should be:
- Related to initiatives funded by the OCF
- Designed to showcase impact, and not primarily for fundraising purposes.
- For videos, they should be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo for embedding in our Impact Gallery.
