The Ottawa Community Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Grant A. Jameson, LL.B, ICD.D, as Chair of the Board of Directors. Grant had previously served as Secretary / First Vice Chair and replaces Carol Devenny, who passes the baton and takes on the role of Past Chair. In addition, director Susan Scotti was appointed Secretary / First Vice Chair.

Grant is a corporate director, consultant and retired lawyer. Throughout his career Grant has been involved in professional, community and charitable organizations. He is known as a community leader dedicated to the success of causes that benefit human rights, health care, the arts and corporate governance. Grant practiced corporate and commercial law in Ottawa until his retirement as a Senior Partner from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was Ottawa Managing Partner and member of the Management Committee. Following his retirement, Grant was appointed Fairness Commissioner of Ontario for a two-year term from 2017 to 2019. Grant provides board advisory and corporate governance consulting services through his consultancy, Beattie House Associates.

He is currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Community Foundation, Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors of the National Trust for Canada and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation. Grant has volunteered and served in numerous leadership positions for many organizations in the Ottawa community including the Ontario March of Dimes, Canadian Red Cross Ottawa-Carleton Branch, AIDS Committee of Ottawa, Ottawa Arts Court Foundation, The Canadian Club of Ottawa, Ottawa Chamber Music Society, Institute of Corporate Directors, Canadiana Fund, The Mounted Police Foundation, Canadian Nurses Foundation, the EGALE Human Rights Trust, the Rideau Club and The Audette Foundation.

The OCF appreciates Grant’s continued contribution in his expanded role and looks forward to advancing its mission and achieving its goals under his leadership. We thank Carol Devenny wholeheartedly for leading the organization through crucial times.
