Dear Friends and Family,

We are pleased to tell you that the second Phil Everson Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to a graduating student of St. Lawrence Secondary School in Cornwall, Ont. As you may recall, this scholarship was initiated after Phil Everson, a former St. Lawrence student, died suddenly after completing the Ottawa Army Run in September of 2019. It was always Phil’s intention to give back to St. Lawrence S.S. in some way. Because of the generosity of many donors like yourself, Phil’s intention has become reality and the fund is able to generate a $1,500 scholarship annually.

The recipient of the 2021 Phil Everson Memorial Scholarship is Hailey Collingridge. This fall, Hailey will be attending Algonquin College in the Pre-Health program with the eventual goal of becoming a Respiratory Therapist. She is an all-around athlete, winning the “Gr. 11 Woman Athlete of the Year” and has volunteered with hockey teams assisting with admissions, 50/50 tickets and raffles. She has also visited local nursing homes, doing hair and nails for the ladies. How sweet is that!

Thank you for being a part of a wonderful community of donors. You have made a significant investment in our youth and have helped Hailey pursue her post-secondary studies.

With gratitude,

Johneen, Tom & Rebecca Everson
