Chayanika joined the Foundation in 2015 and is a Senior Associate on the Strategic Initiatives team. She gathers, analyzes and synthesises data and information related to the Foundation’s key issues and strategic priorities. Whether it is Ottawa Insights (OCF’s online community resource for local data and action), social enterprise development, impact investing, or evaluation, Chayanika loves working with numbers and data, and especially enjoys when they support evidenced-based decision making.

Hailing from Winnipeg, Chayanika earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and International Business at the University of Manitoba, followed by a master’s degree in Development Economics at Dalhousie University. Prior to working at the Foundation, she worked as an economist in natural resources and healthcare in Ottawa and Halifax and for the municipal government in Winnipeg.

Chayanika currently lives in Ottawa with her husband and son but takes every opportunity they can to travel the world through food and adventure.
