The Abel Mengistab Memorial Fund (AMMF) was established in the loving memory of Abel Mengistab to commemorate his life, contributions, and long-lasting legacy. Abel Mengistab, who passed June 2020, was a Carleton University student approaching his final year of study. His dedication to advocating for social justice and volunteerism has helped build, educate and support his community along with everyone who knew him.
The Abel Mengistab Fund is thought out to actively perpetuate Abel Mengistab’s legacy through supporting various causes that were of importance to Abel, including supporting homelessness and children on the autism spectrum. The Abel Mengistab Memorial Award has also been established to support post-secondary students who model the pillars that Abel built his life upon.
