The Ottawa Community Foundation is a public, charitable organization created by and for the people of Ottawa. Role Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Philanthropic Services, the Associate works with the Philanthropic Services team to ensure timely, responsive outreach and reporting to achieve high donor satisfaction and meaningful community impact through a range of stewardship activities. This is a full-time Ottawa-based role in a collaborative fast-paced and dynamic organization. As an entry-level role it is geared to someone:

Responsibilities

Working with direction from the Manager, Philanthropic Services, the Associate: 

  • Supports activities to establish new funds and/or steward existing funds.  
  • Filters, synthesizes, and organizes information for easy access by the Donor Engagement team. 
  • Works cross-functionally to assure timely reporting to donors and prospects and to respond to queries. 
  • Maintains records in the Ottawa Community Foundation’s database related to donors; prospective donors, and professional advisors. 
  • Supports the donor engagement team in researching grantmaking opportunities related to donors’ interests
  • Supports the implementation of key programs. 
  • Other duties as needed. 

Required Skills, Attributes, Competencies

  • Post-secondary education or a combination of education, experience, and knowledge. 
  • Experience working in a stakeholder-focused environment that requires tact, confidentiality, attention to detail, responsiveness, and flexibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative under tight deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365 and ability to learn other systems. 
  • Solutions-oriented with an ability to work as a team in a remote context if required. 

Other Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and French (written and oral)
  • Residing in the National Capital Region

Desirable

  • Experience working in a social impact organization, such as a non-profit, charity, community organization, or social enterprise.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the philanthropic sector

Remuneration

Salary range is $50,000 -$55,000

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with full benefits, annual paid leave, and employer RRSP contributions.
