Madeleine Meilleur is a registered nurse and a lawyer specialized is labour law. She spent 25 years in politics at the municipal and provincial level. During her tenure as a member of Provincial government, she held several portfolios including those of Attorney General, Community Safety and Correctional Services, Community and Social Services and Culture, as well as Minister responsible for Francophone Affairs for 12 years. She recently retired from public life and is now a Senior Associate with the Institute on Governance.
